Madinah is the city where the Prophet ﷺ lived for the last ten years of his life, and its landscape still carries the places of that story: the mosque he built at the heart of the city, the Mosque of Quba founded on his arrival, the plain and mountain of Uhud, the cemetery of al-Baqi’, the wells of the old oasis and the mosques of the Companions.
This guide lists 33 historic places. 32 of them follow the Innaha Taybah map of historical and archaeological sites published by the Madinah Research and Studies Center; we have also added Masjid al-Qiblatayn. Each place has its own page with its history, its connection to the Seerah, notes for visiting today and the sources behind it.
Not every association carries the same weight. Established places are directly documented in the Qur’an, authentic hadith or early Seerah. Documented tradition and Historical attribution mean the link comes from later historical reports or local tradition. We show the difference so you can visit with both devotion and accuracy. Read our methodology.
